WMU | Western Heights Residence Halls Sitework

WMU constructed new residence halls for the first time since the 1960s. This effort included demolishing two existing residence halls and redeveloping the site with two state-of-the-art residence halls and open space areas to meet the current needs of the University.

This project encompassed 10 acres in the center of WMU’s campus. Design included the construction of two student residence hall buildings; a chiller building; underground steam tunnels; parking lots; roads; and water, sewer, and communications utilities. Fishbeck provided civil and structural engineering services for the project and responsibilities included building and tunnel structural design, site layout; water, sewer, and storm sewer utility design; stormwater drainage design; grading; and road design.
